The I.T. Outreach Blog

Last year alone under the umbrella of I.T. Outreach, we donated a computer to a non-profit in need and were able to donate 327 hours of otherwise billable time to a wide range of non-profits. These non-profits consisted of organizations that addressed helping educate children, animal sheltering, cancer support, and historical information and posterity, to name a few. To put into perspective the work that we are doing here, 327 hours of computer labor would cost non-profits at a standard rate of $100-$125 per hour a total of $32,000-$40,875. These are monies that are typically not in a non-profit’s budget, yet the I.T. services are very needed to help fulfill their mission. We are very proud of the work that we do here and look forward to helping more non-profits in the future.

We are happy to announce that I.T. Outreach has now been an official nonprofit organization for a full year (though we have been fulfilling our mission of helping other non-profits through the for-profit company Bucho Computers for 3 whole years now).

And with our birthday, we have great news: Three (3) weeks ago today, on May 3rd, 2007, we filed our paperwork to become a certified 501(c)(3) tax deductible non-profit! We should be hearing back fairly soon about that. We have good reason to believe that we will be granted this status due to the great track record of the person who helped guide us through the filing process and navigate our way around many common problems that are encountered in seeking 501(c)(3) status.

We are excited, because this certified tax-deductible status  not only gives our future donors the ability to receive tax credits for helping the community through our organization, but it will also apply retroactively to anyone and everyone who has supported us since the beginning of the year! So all of you should be looking for your year-end tax statement from us in the mail also!

Just to remind everyone of what we do: We are an I.T. (information technology, aka computer services) company. We offer technology-related consultation, and installation, repair, and maintenance of computers, databases, software and networks. We service most anything that has to do with computers!
